Tea and Meditation with Rebecca Poole

Join us for a traditional Chinese tea ceremony followed by a blissful meditation.

The tea ceremony is an ancient practice that honors tea as plant medicine. This practice originated in China more than 2,000 years ago, when Buddhist monks spread the art of growing and making tea as a mindfulness practice. Cha Dao, “the way of tea”, is living life in a harmonious way with nature, honoring the lineage, slowing down when sitting for tea, and recognizing the chi or energy exchange that every cup offers. This ceremonial gathering is both a time of quiet contemplation and a space to connect and share in Sangha (community).

The teas will be prepared and served in a way that is consistent with the culture from which they originate. Each month will feature a different variety (green, oolong, white, etc).

After enjoying the tea ceremony, we will sit together for a 10-20 minute guided meditation. This shared meditation will allow you to find stillness within and go deeper in your spiritual practice, aided by the healing properties of the tea.
